It has finally arrived. The night before your childs first day of school. I remember my first childs experiences or schould i say i remember my emotional turmoil. So many things went through my head. I wondered how she be treated? Will she make friends? What if she gets hurt? What are the teachers like? What if she needs to go to the toilet? (How on earth will that happend without me even though she was toilet trained for years) The list goes on and on. But what you need to remember is that your child is not the first to start school and certainly will not be the last. She will be ok. When you have your own emotions sorted, it's time to sort your child.

Have your child’s uniform laid out so it is ready to be put on in the morning. If there is no uniform, help your child choose which clothes they will wear.

Assist your child to pack their school bag so it is ready for the big day.

Stick to familiar routines as much as possible. Try to have a calm evening and allow more time to settle before bedtime if your child is feeling excited or nervous about starting school.

Have an early night
